Tea Room Restaurant at Cauley Square
Open Daily 11am to 4pm
12310 SW 224th Street, South Miami

My darling husband found a reference to Cauley Square on the Internet and decided we should take a ride down and check it out. So, on a cold and rainy Sunday weekend before last, we made the journey.  What a delightful time we had! The restaurant is tucked in beneath towering old trees and was very appealing ...

You can see the little dot of red over the garden gate, so being a faithful shutterbug,
I got a closeup of the flower ...

We were welcomed by attentive wait staff who brought us a lovely cup of hot tea ...

... and we had a lovely, leisurely lunch while it rained.

There are several rooms throughout the building, each one a charming surprise!

This is the banquet room located at the back of the building and I can quite imagine a wedding reception with a bride dressed in a vintage victorian gown surrounded by family and close friends ...

When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by this lovely buffet of teas and jams. The surprise lies behind the buffet, in the Cauley Square Tea Room!

This is a detail of the fantastic mural that adorns the wall ...

And, this is the Cauley Square Tea Room. You can see the mural on the wall, left, which is framed by the buffet/bar at the restaurant's entrance.

Each table is laid with a lovely lamp and teapot. This was what we found on our table.
I so wanted to take the lamp home!

As we were leaving, our waitress told us to note the mural on the front of the exterior. She said it was the owner's daughters.  We spent an hour and a half here, indulging ourselves with a slice of red velvet cake. Our entire meal was less than $60 and you can be sure we'll be visiting again soon! If I were to give it stars, The Tea Room Restaurant at McCauley Square would get ten stars, for sure! I simply loved it!

Bucca di Peppo Restaurant
Davie, Florida
My Soroptimist Club meets here twice a month, and I've come to love the Italian decor of this restaurant! The food is quite good, too, though I have encountered a grumpy person who didn't like the way they serve. Instead of individual plates, large platters are brought to the table so guests can serve themselves. Personally, I like this. A lot.

Should you visit, ask for the Apple Gorgonzola Salad!
It's out of this world!
Made with tart Granny Smith apples, spiced walnuts, dried cranberries and Gorgonzola cheese tossed with fresh lettuce blend and their signature Italian vinaigrette, it's a salad you'll want again. And, again! The combination is truly delish and my mouth waters just writing about it!

When you go, look for the pink lady. She keeps watch during our meetings!
